Questioning minds may be asking…
-
Art licensing is where you get permission granted by me to use my artwork on your products or in projects—prints, greeting cards, apparel, packaging, campaigns etc. You get permission without buying the copyright and without having to hire an in-house designer.
You can license one of my existing surface pattern designs or we can work together to create something custom. The artwork stays mine, but you get permission to use it under clear, friendly terms, for a specified length of time in defined territories.

I offer non-exclusive or exclusive licensing of patterns and graphics as well as full buyouts depending on availability of artwork.
A non-exclusive license allows you to use the design for a certain period on your product (I may license it to others too). For example, the design will remain available on my Spoonflower shop, where other people may purchase the design to print on products.
An exclusive license allows you usage within your product category for a certain period and territory and it will not be licensed to any other brand within that product category. It may however be licensed in a different category which is not related to your industry.

As the designer, I retain all copyright and ownership of the artwork you license.
I offer full buyouts where the copyright will transfer to you but this is dependent on the availability of a design and will require a more detailed quote.
